NOV 17-18 - BETHLEHEM HANDICRAFTS RETURNS

BH 7080.jpg

Saturday and Sunday, November 17-18, After all Masses // St. John’s Foyer

The Bannoura family of Bethlehem Handicrafts imports products from the Christian community of Bethlehem.  As Joseph taught Christ the trade of carpentry in Nazareth, the Bannoura family passed the trade of olive wood artisanship from generation to generation until the present. They take great pride in this distinct and traditional craft, which is one of the principal sources of income for the small but resilient Christian community.

On Nov. 17th & 18th, they will visit St. John’s with handcrafted olive wood items for sale.  Any number of items ranging from Nativity sets to Christmas ornaments will make ideal Christmas gifts for family, friends and coworkers.  Other items such as statuettes and rosary beads will make for excellent Baptismal, First Communion and Confirmation gifts throughout the year. For more information and to view available products, please visit www.bethlehemhandicrafts.com.

Thursday, November 8, 7:00pm // Knights Hall

Presentation contains mature content not suitable for children.  SJE Inspiring People and St. John’s Catholic School invite you to Culture 5:11 - a presentation for parents interested in learning how modern media is affecting teens and preteens socially and impacting their ability to form genuine connections.  We will discuss the temptations kids face in the digital age, how parents can encourage discipline around the use of social media, and how to avoid the destructive nature of pornography.
