The faculty and staff of Saint John the Evangelist extend a warm welcome to you! We are a Catholic school with over 50 years of experience of providing our students with the very best Christ-centered education. We strive to teach the whole person by maintaining high academic standards as well as guiding the student's spiritual walk of faith within a loving and supportive environment. As a ministry of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, we offer a family centered environment. Along with a rigorous academic program, we also offer our students a variety of extra-curricular activities and clubs. We pride ourselves in being able to maintain a reasonable class size of around 25 students in all our Elementary and Middle School grades. On standardized tests our students score one to two years above grade level. Most of our graduates remain on the honor rolls of their respective high schools. Many of our alumni succeed in honors classes as well as Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate studies. If you are looking to provide an excellent future for your child, then look no further! Saint John the Evangelist Catholic School is the best investment you can make. Altar Servers
Contact: Brian Wallisch (970) 635-5810
It is a great privilege to serve at the Altar of our God and therefore Servers are chosen from those boys and girls who display a desire for a more intimate union with our Lord and God, Jesus Christ. The primary role of the altar server is to assist the priest in the celebration of the liturgy during Mass. This is done by setting an example to the congregation by active participation in the liturgy, by looking alert, and sitting or standing at the appropriate times. Servers carry the cross, the processional candle(s), hold the book for the priest celebrant when he is not at the altar, carry the incense and censer, present the bread, wine, and water to the priest during the preparation of the gifts or assist him when he receives the gifts from the people, wash the hands of the priest, and assist the priest celebrant and deacon as necessary.
